Coconut Oil

“Shane, smell my face.”

“Mmmmmm, smells like a delicious meal.”

Yes, this was a real conversation in my house!

I have never been a big skin care product person.

I’m not consistent with any products and these days all the crazy ingredients scare me!

I looked at the organic/natural stuff about a 100 times in target and elsewhere, but nothing really jumped out at me.

And truthfully, I’m pretty cheap so I didn’t want to buy $20 eye cream and then never use it!

Let’s face it though, I’m not getting any younger and could use a little help!

A little googling led me to the conclusion that coconut oil was my best bet!

According to Mercola, “Many experts believe coconut oil may help restore more youthful-looking skin. When coconut oil is absorbed into the skin and connective tissues, it helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by helping to keep connective tissues strong and supple.

Coconut oil will not only bring temporary benefits to the skin, but it will aid in restoring your skin’s youthful appearance. The coconut oil will aid in exfoliating the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother. It also penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin to strengthen the underlying tissues.”

Well damn skippy! Sounds good to me.

And just to make certain I watched this youtube video, and she sounds pretty confident so what the heck, why not!

So far, I smell delicious. :) No breakouts and my skin is nice and soft.

It also works great on Avery’s chapped lips. And I love how it feels and my hands and arms.

Not sure I look younger, but….

    I have been using coconut oil for moisturizer for over a year and I think it is amazing. You can use it as a hair conditioner as well. My daughters use it when they go out in the sun and they get the most beautiful tans. Love, love, love coconut oil!

    I used a bit last year when I was using the WonderBar (that Darby/Erica) recommended. It really was great. Now I’m trying to use up all those random bottles I have left floating around the bathroom. Let us know in a few months if you really notice any results.

    i was using coconut oil for a while, but found it to be drying. instead, i use EVOO, grape seed oil, or avocado oil. cold pressed, of course:)

    oh my WORD!! you can’t make that up marla! that video was a fan-freaking-tastic way to end my day. so many highlites, where do i begin…my favorite parts were her blip about her hair going all wack and the funnel tutorial. still cracking up. but hey, i’m sold. i’m going in my kitchen right now and trying it! thanks!!
