Boys are so weird

Yesterday was Shane’s 40th birthday.

You can see here that he got all dressed up for the occasion!

With his birthday being so close to Christmas, it is tricky to come up with gift ideas. This year I had the grand idea to throw him a super, duper fun birthday bash. Maybe we would have a private chef, some live music, and invite all our friends to celebrate. But Shane, being a boy, made me swear I would not throw him a party. How about a small party? No. How about a few couples going to dinner. No. He wanted no part of it. I thought about tickets to a music festival,  a new camera lens, a gift certificate to cabelas? I wracked my brain, but none of my ideas seemed to measure up to a 40th birthday present.

In the end, I got him what he has always wanted. A gift I swore I would never buy.

A complete and total waste of good money.

A knife.

A knife?

A knife.

He swears it is the BEST gift he has ever gotten.

I will NEVER. EVER. understand boys.

Happy Birthday Crazy Man.

Love you Anyways!

Lady: It says here that all these vegetables are 0 points.

Leader: Yes…

Lady: Exactly how much broccoli can I eat before it is not zero points any more?

Leader: Honey, none of us got here today because we eat too much broccoli.

Here at Casa Carter, we LOVE brussel Sprouts. I mean really really LOVE them! For me they are like vegetable candy. And whenever I am popping them into my mouth, by the handful, I think about this funny memory. If you have ever been on WW, then you know you have wondered that too! I could probably eat the whole tray full but I try to restrain myself, only so that I can enjoy the left overs the next day!

You should really try them. Even if you think you hate them, you are wrong!

Cut the sprouts in half, removing the ends, toss them in plenty of EVOO, salt, pepper, and garlic Gold.

Bake at 375 for about 35 minutes until they are nice and brown and caramelized.

Pop, and Enjoy!

A Jacker!

It’s true. Tweak, tweak, tweak!
